Xherdan Shaqiri has announced his retirement from international football at the age of 32, ending a 14-year career with the Swiss national team. Shaqiri earned 125 caps, making him Switzerland’s second most-capped player, and scored 32 goals, becoming the fourth top scorer for his country. He participated in seven major tournaments, including four World Cups and three European Championships, with notable performances such as a hat-trick against Honduras in the 2014 World Cup. His final appearance came as an extra-time substitute in Switzerland's Euro 2024 quarterfinal loss to England.
