Kynan Chenai, Sabeera Haris Win Bronze Trap Mixed Team ISSF World Cup Nicosia

Olympian Kynan Chenai and 18-year-old Sabeera Haris secured a bronze medal for India in the trap mixed team event at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup held in Nicosia, Cyprus. The Indian duo edged out the Turkish team of Tolga Tuncer and Pelin Kaya 34-33 in a closely contested bronze-medal match, after finishing fourth among 34 teams in the qualification round with a combined score of 142. Chenai, a seasoned Olympian, contributed significantly by shooting 23 out of 25 targets in the final, while Haris demonstrated promising talent, scoring 72 in qualification. China won the gold medal by defeating Poland in the final, with the Neutral Athletes topping the overall medal standings. This medal marked India's first podium finish in shotgun events at this year's ISSF World Cups, as other Indian shooters, including noted Olympians, did not reach medal rounds at this meet. The next ISSF Shotgun World Cup will be held in July in Italy, with India’s pistol and rifle teams competing separately in Munich in June.
