Martin-Green, Wahlberg Star in Boston Blue Spinoff

CBS has officially cast Sonequa Martin-Green as Detective Lena Peters, partnering with Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan in the upcoming Blue Bloods spinoff, Boston Blue. The series follows Danny Reagan’s relocation from New York to the Boston Police Department, teaming up two eldest children from established law enforcement families. Both Martin-Green and Wahlberg announced the casting at a CBS press event, expressing excitement for the new direction. Showrunners Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis, along with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, are leading the creative team. Boston Blue will premiere during CBS’s 2025-2026 season and aims to expand the Blue Bloods universe with the introduction of the Peters family and possible cameos from original cast members. The show is set to honor the legacy of Blue Bloods while exploring new family dynamics.
