Leta Lindley Wins U.S. Senior Women's Open

Leta Lindley claimed victory at the U.S. Senior Women’s Open at Fox Chapel with a record-setting final round of 7-under 64, finishing with a total of 9-under 275. This win comes after two consecutive second-place finishes, where she lost by one stroke to Jill McGill and Trish Johnson in the previous years. Lindley surged ahead in the final round, starting five strokes behind leader Kaori Yamamoto, who ultimately finished second with a 71. The 52-year-old golfer, who previously won the 2008 LPGA Corning Classic, expressed her long-held dream of winning this championship, emphasizing the emotional significance of the win. Nobuko Kizawa of Japan placed third at 3 under, while Annika Sorenstam also competed, finishing a shot back. Hall of Famer JoAnne Carner missed the cut after struggling in the opening rounds.
