Indian Chess Federation Reports Missing Trophy

The trophy, last held by India after winning it in Chennai in 2022, has been untraceable for over a month despite extensive searches and inquiries. The incident surfaced when the International Chess Federation (FIDE) requested the trophy for the ongoing Olympiad in Budapest, prompting the AICF to arrange for a replacement trophy and issue an apology. The AICF has expressed deep embarrassment over the situation and emphasized the need for responsibility in handling such prestigious awards.
