Raiders to Release QB Gardner Minshew on March 12

The Las Vegas Raiders have announced that they will release quarterback Gardner Minshew at the start of the new league year on March 12, 2025. Minshew, who signed a two-year, $25 million contract with the Raiders last offseason, struggled during the 2024 season, starting nine games and recording nine touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and a 2-7 record before suffering a season-ending collarbone injury. His release will save the team $6.3 million against the 2025 salary cap. With Minshew's departure, the Raiders are expected to actively pursue new quarterback options, with potential interest in veterans like Sam Darnold and Russell Wilson, as well as draft prospects.
