Bristol City Loans Middlesbrough Defender Neto Borges
Bristol City have secured the signing of defender Neto Borges on a season-long loan from Championship rivals Middlesbrough. The 28-year-old Brazilian left-back, who joined Middlesbrough in summer 2024 from French club Clermont, has experience playing in Brazil, Sweden, Belgium, and Portugal and has made 39 appearances for Boro. Borges expressed excitement about joining Bristol City, praising the stadium and atmosphere from his previous visit. Technical Director Brian Tinnion highlighted Borges' versatility on the left side and the depth he adds to the squad. The move aims to strengthen Bristol City's defensive options under new manager Gerhard Struber, following a strong start to the Championship season. Borges' ability to play multiple left-side roles offers valuable cover amid uncertainties around other defenders on the team.
