Oklahoma Parents Arrested After 11-Year-Old Gives Unassisted Birth

The girl's mother, Cherie Walker, and stepfather, Dustin Walker, were arrested and charged with felony child neglect, with Dustin also facing a child sexual abuse charge after DNA tests revealed he is the father of the baby. The child had received no prenatal care and had not seen a doctor for over a year, raising concerns about prolonged neglect. Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson described the girl as traumatized by the ordeal and emphasized the availability of resources to report abuse or neglect. The couple is held on $100,000 bonds each, and additional charges are anticipated. The 11-year-old and her siblings have been removed from the home, with officials noting the girl may have been homeschooled and unmonitored by medical or school authorities for some time.
