UK to Supply Gravehawk Air Defense to Ukraine

The UK is set to provide Ukraine with 15 mobile air defense systems named Gravehawk, developed specifically to enhance Ukraine's military capabilities amid ongoing Russian attacks. Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the delivery during his visit to Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of Ukraine's security to the UK. The Gravehawk system, which is roughly the size of a shipping container, can retrofit air-to-air missiles for ground-based defense and is compatible with existing Ukrainian missile stocks. Following successful tests of two prototypes in September 2023, the new systems are expected to undergo testing in 2025. This initiative is part of a broader military cooperation agreement, aimed at strengthening defense ties between the UK and Ukraine over the next century. The project is being co-funded by Denmark and reflects the UK's commitment to ramping up military support, having already allocated significant financial assistance to Ukraine.
