Ajay Ratra Joins BCCI Men's Selection Committee
The BCCI has named former India wicketkeeper Ajay Ratra as the newest member of the Men's Selection Committee, replacing Chetan Sharma who resigned in February 2023. Ratra, who played six Tests and 12 ODIs for India in 2002, has extensive coaching experience and has worked with various domestic teams and the Indian national team. He will collaborate with chief selector Ajit Agarkar and other committee members to identify and nurture the next generation of cricketers, especially ahead of India's upcoming home Test series against Bangladesh. Ratra's past coaching roles include positions with Assam, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, as well as involvement with the Indian team during the ODI series in South Africa in 2023. The BCCI emphasized that Ratra's insights will be valuable in ensuring the best talent is recognized and developed for international competition.
