Michigan Mother Charged with Arson After House Fire Kills Daughter

Roconda Singleton, a 46-year-old woman from Grand Rapids, Michigan, has been accused of setting her home on fire, resulting in the death of her 12-year-old daughter, Shamiya Stewart, and injuring her two younger daughters, aged 7 and 10. Authorities allege that Singleton removed all smoke detectors, poured lighter fluid throughout the house, and then started the fire while her children were inside. Shamiya succumbed to her injuries two days later, suffering from severe burns and smoke inhalation. Singleton was found outside as the fire raged, reportedly admitting her actions to police.
