Shin Yu-bin in table tennis
Diana Shnaider, a former NC State Women’s Tennis player, has made history as the first Olympian from her program, advancing to the Gold Medal Match in Women’s Doubles at the Paris Olympics. Shnaider and her partner Mira Andreeva will compete against Italy’s Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini, with a chance to secure a Gold Medal. Meanwhile, South Korean table tennis player Shin Yu-bin has reached the bronze medal match after losing 4-0 to China's Chen Meng in the semifinals, aiming to win the country's first women's singles medal in 20 years. Shin had previously won a mixed doubles bronze earlier in the tournament. Additionally, Jang Woo-jin was eliminated in the men’s singles quarterfinals, continuing South Korea's long-standing absence from medals in this event since 2004. Both Shnaider and Shin represent significant milestones for their respective countries in Olympic history.
