VinFast Launches VF7 SUV Indonesia, Plans India Plant

VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, is aggressively expanding its footprint in Asia, with significant launches in India and Indonesia. In India, VinFast is setting up its second manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with a $500 million investment and plans to produce 150,000 units annually, targeting the upcoming festive season with early showcases of the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs. The VF 7, available in three variants in India, features advanced safety and infotainment technologies including a 15-inch touchscreen, heads-up display, and ADAS. In Indonesia, VinFast introduced the VF 7 at the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, offering two variants—Eco and Plus—with competitive pricing, modern design by Torino Design, and driving ranges up to 471 km. The VF 7 is also available in the Philippines and is supported by extensive after-sales services and promotional offers, reinforcing VinFast’s commitment to sustainable mobility and customer experience across markets. These efforts demonstrate VinFast's strategic approach to becoming a major EV player in emerging markets through local manufacturing, product diversity, and robust customer engagement.
