Two 16-year-olds were arrested for allegedly starting the devastating Hawarden Fire in Riverside using illegal fireworks, which led to the destruction of seven homes and burned nearly 600 acres. A third teen, also a suspect, is yet to be arrested. Surveillance footage captured the teens igniting the fireworks and fleeing in a silver pickup truck. The fire, which began on July 21, caused over $28 million in damages and necessitated the evacuation of more than 1,500 people. Fireworks are illegal in Riverside, and the ones used are classified as 'dangerous' under California law. The teens face 27 charges related to willful and malicious fire setting.
