Multiple College RBs Named to Doak Walker Award Watchlist

The 2025 Doak Walker Award preseason watch list features a strong group of running backs from across college football, highlighting key players from major programs. Jaydn Ott, a transfer to Oklahoma, is among the favorites after leading the Pac-12 in rushing during his breakout sophomore season despite a modest junior year limited by injuries. Texas boasts two running backs, CJ Baxter and Tre Wisner, both recognized for their talent and potential impact on a deep Longhorns backfield. Baylor's Bryson Washington, a freshman All-American who set program rushing records, also made the list, as did Missouri's Ahmad Hardy, who led all true freshmen in rushing yards last season and has earned national recognition. Florida's Jadan Baugh, noted for his exceptional strength and leading Gators in rushing as a true freshman, rounds out some of the top contenders. The award, honoring the nation's outstanding running back, will announce semifinalists in November and the winner in December during The Home Depot College Football Awards show.
