Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run Raises Over $18M Across 50 Communities

The 34th annual Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure united over 60,000 participants nationwide, raising more than $18 million to support breast cancer research, treatment, and advocacy. Team CIBC contributed $3.1 million alone, marking its 29th year as the title sponsor and raising a total of $67.6 million to date. Local events, like those in North Bay and Thunder Bay, saw strong community engagement, with North Bay raising nearly $94,000 and Thunder Bay exceeding its fundraising goals with over $83,000. The event not only raises funds but also promotes awareness, early detection, and improved screening policies, such as advocating for breast screening starting at age 40 instead of 50. The funds support numerous research projects, clinical trials, patient lodging, and informational services across Canada, helping to improve outcomes for those affected by breast cancer. This ongoing commitment continues to drive progress in breast cancer detection and treatment, benefiting millions across the country.
