Seann William Scott has been cast in ABC's upcoming multi-camera comedy 'Shifting Gears,' joining Tim Allen and Kat Dennings. Scott will play Gabriel, a family friend working at Allen's character's classic car restoration shop, replacing the character Nick from the pilot, a decision that will require reshooting. The show follows Matt, a widowed shop owner, as he reconnects with his estranged daughter Riley and her children who move in with him. Production is set to begin in November, with a series order confirmed after a pilot was previously greenlit. Michelle Nader will serve as showrunner, alongside a notable executive production team including Allen and Dennings. This marks Scott's return to television after his role in 'Welcome to Flatch' and is anticipated to air in the 2024-25 season.
