A signalling system fault at Leeds has caused widespread disruption to rail services in West Yorkshire, leading to cancellations, delays of up to 45 minutes, and revised schedules. This issue affected services to and from Leeds Railway Station, including routes to Chester, Hull, Halifax, Knottingley, Manchester Victoria, Bradford Interchange, and Wakefield Westgate. Train operators CrossCountry, Northern, LNER, and TransPennine Express have responded by allowing ticket flexibility across services and warning of potential congestion delays. Separately, South Western Railway reported disruptions due to issues causing trains to run at reduced speeds on lines between Romsey, Salisbury, and Chandlers Ford, with some services cancelled despite the problem being fixed and lines reopened. Both incidents highlight ongoing challenges in maintaining smooth rail operations in parts of the UK during the affected periods.
