The Fire Inside Biopic on Claressa Shields Released

The new boxing biopic, 'The Fire Inside', which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, tells the inspiring true story of Claressa Shields, portrayed by Ryan Destiny. Directed by Oscar-nominated Rachel Morrison, the film showcases Shields' journey from Flint, Michigan, to becoming the first American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in boxing. The film also highlights her struggles post-success, wrestling with the pressures of family and the fight for gender equity in sports. Written and produced by Barry Jenkins, the film features a cast that includes Brian Tyree Henry as Shields' coach. Originally titled 'Flint Strong', it will be released in theaters on Christmas Day. Claressa Shields serves as an executive producer on the project, adding a personal touch to her life story.
