4 killed in scrap shop blast

A devastating explosion at a scrap dealer's shop in Sopore, Baramulla district, resulted in the deaths of four individuals on July 29. The blast occurred while the victims were unloading scrap, which included discarded ammunition from Ladakh. Two victims died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The deceased were identified as Nazir Ahmad Nadroo (40), Aazim Ashraf Mir (20), Aadil Rashid Bhat (23), and Mohammad Azhar (25), all residents of Sher Colony. Investigations are underway to determine the source of the scrap and the nature of the explosives involved, with forensic experts dispatched to the scene. Local residents expressed shock and fear, recalling the blast's powerful sound and its tragic aftermath.
