The Indian government has extended tax incentives for exports made via courier services to boost the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Effective from September 12, these incentives include the Duty Drawback Scheme, the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP), and the Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (RoSCTL). This initiative aims to streamline India’s e-commerce export ecosystem and enhance export growth through courier and postal modes. Additionally, the Ministry of Commerce launched digital platforms to facilitate online access to services and grievance resolution for exporters. The government anticipates significant growth in e-commerce exports, projecting a potential market of $200-300 billion by 2030. The changes reflect ongoing reforms to create a more equitable environment for exporters utilizing courier services.
