United Way Launches Free Tax Preparation Programs Nationwide

Various United Way organizations across the United States are offering free tax preparation services through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for eligible households. In Lancaster County, residents earning $70,000 or less can access these services at 15 locations, with appointments available until April 15. United Way Suncoast is promoting its VITA program, where households earning under $79,000 can receive assistance, including two Saturday Tax-A-Thon events in February. Additionally, the United Way of Southern Cameron County and the United Way of Natrona County are also providing free tax preparation for residents earning up to $67,000 and offering services until early April. Last year, VITA programs collectively helped thousands of residents secure millions in tax refunds while saving them significant preparation costs. These initiatives aim to enhance financial stability by also providing information on tax credits and other financial resources.
