Scandic Hotels Expands Go Brand in Sweden

Scandic Hotels Group has signed long-term leases with JV Nordväst Fastighet AB for two existing hotels in Helsingborg and Jönköping, Sweden, totaling 199 rooms, which will be renovated and rebranded under the Scandic Go brand, set to open in the first half of 2026. This move is part of Scandic's strategy to expand its Scandic Go brand, which now includes six hotels with a total of 851 rooms across Sweden and Finland. The hotels are strategically located in key economic hubs, catering to the increasing demand from both business and leisure travelers. The Helsingborg location will feature 96 rooms close to transportation links, while the Jönköping hotel will offer 103 rooms in the city center. Scandic aims to enhance its market share in the economy segment by repurposing existing properties in locations where it has a lower presence. CEO Jens Mathiesen expressed optimism about the growth potential of Scandic Go in Sweden and the wider Nordic region.
