Hungry Dog Sparks Minor Kitchen Fire in Canton Home

A small fire broke out early Friday morning in a Canton home when a dog accidentally turned on an electric burner while trying to reach food on the stove. The home's smoke detectors alerted the four adults and six children inside, allowing them to evacuate safely before extinguishing the fire with a garden hose. Firefighters arrived to find minor damage to the oven and light smoke damage in the kitchen, with total estimated damage around $500.
