Sydney Childcare Workers Charged Over Toddler Assault
Two female childcare workers have been charged after a 17-month-old boy was allegedly assaulted at an early learning centre in South Wentworthville, Sydney, on June 26. Police investigations found that the child sustained injuries in two separate incidents involving the workers on the same day. A 42-year-old woman has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault, while a 32-year-old woman faces a charge of common assault. Both are scheduled to appear in Blacktown Local Court on August 27. Authorities are urging parents or carers with concerns about child safety to contact the Child Protection Helpline or police. The case comes amid ongoing scrutiny of child safety standards in Australia's childcare sector.
