Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, has been sentenced to a month and a half in prison for multiple violations of his supervised release, including failing drug tests and unauthorized travel. Judge Paul Engelmayer criticized Hernandez for his repeated disregard for court rules, stating that his violations suggest he believes the rules do not apply to him. Following his October arrest, Hernandez accepted a plea deal which includes serving an additional month in jail, followed by home confinement and curfew restrictions. After this, he will remain under probation supervision for another year with mandatory drug testing. Engelmayer expressed disappointment at Hernandez's failure to adhere to his probation requirements, especially after granting him early release during the COVID-19 pandemic. This latest legal trouble comes as Hernandez approaches the end of a five-year probation period established after a previous racketeering conviction.
