Russian Drone Attacks Injure 12 in Kyiv Amid Ongoing Ukraine Conflict

Over the past 24 hours, intense Russian drone and missile attacks have targeted multiple Ukrainian cities including Kyiv, Sumy, Kherson, Odesa, and Zaporizhzhia, resulting in at least five deaths and numerous injuries. Kyiv experienced significant damage, including a fire in a high-rise building in the Pechersk district and 12 people were reported injured from the attacks there. In the southern port city of Odesa, Russian strikes caused fires, power outages affecting 30,000 homes, and injuries to at least five people, while in Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv regions, several were also injured. Ukrainian forces claimed to have intercepted the majority of the 112 drones used in the attacks, but 22 managed to strike targets across 12 locations. Additionally, Ukrainian authorities reported rescuing 23 children from Russian-occupied territories as part of a humanitarian initiative. On the Russian side, Ukrainian attacks on Belgorod and Kherson regions resulted in six civilian deaths and damage to infrastructure, with Russian air defenses intercepting over 50 Ukrainian drones overnight.
