Netherlands Records Highest Eurovision Final Viewership Since 2021
The Netherlands experienced a significant increase in viewership for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 Grand Final in Basel, Switzerland, with 3,590,000 viewers tuning in on NPO 1, marking the highest audience since the country hosted the event in 2021. This represented an increase of approximately 500,000 viewers compared to 2023, when the Netherlands last competed in the final, and the contest overall reached 6,538,000 viewers with a market share of 66.1%. The Dutch entry, Claude, performed "C’est la vie," finishing 12th overall with 175 points, ranking 5th in the jury vote but 15th in the public vote. Meanwhile, the Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS has officially opened submissions for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, continuing with an internal selection process. Interested artists and songwriters can submit up to three entries by the August 31 deadline, with selections expected by December. The contest will take place in Austria next May, and AVROTROS invites public engagement and updates through various social media channels.
