Pieter-Steph du Toit, Ellie Kildunne Win Rugby Awards

Pieter-Steph du Toit of South Africa and Ellie Kildunne of England have been awarded World Rugby's Player of the Year honors for 2024, marking du Toit's second win and Kildunne's first. Du Toit, a key player in the Springboks' success, appeared in 10 out of 13 Tests, contributing to their Rugby Championship victory and an unbeaten autumn tour in Europe. Kildunne excelled in a perfect year for England, scoring 14 tries in 10 Tests and leading her team to a Six Nations Grand Slam. Additionally, Erin King of Ireland was recognized as the Women's Breakthrough Player of the Year after her impactful debut season, including two tries against New Zealand. New Zealand's Wallace Sititi and France's Antoine Dupont claimed the men's and women's breakthrough player awards in sevens rugby, respectively. The awards ceremony took place in Monaco, celebrating outstanding achievements in rugby across various categories.
