Suspect, Two Adults Dead in Adams County Shooting

Adams County Sheriff's deputies responded early Friday morning to a welfare check at a home near Lofton Court and Kokai Circle, where they encountered a knife-wielding man. Attempts to subdue him using non-lethal means failed, leading deputies to fatally shoot the suspect, who died at the hospital. A subsequent sweep of the residence revealed two deceased adults, believed to be a couple, with early reports indicating the suspect may have been their son-in-law. No deputies were injured during the incident. The 17th Judicial District Critical Incident Team is investigating the shooting, while authorities continue to collect evidence and interview neighbors. The identities of the deceased will be released by the coroner's office.
