Canada, Whitchurch-Stouffville fast-track 225 homes under Housing Accelerator Fund

Various initiatives are underway across the UK and Canada to address housing shortages and accelerate new home construction. In Canada, the Housing Accelerator Fund aims to fast-track at least 112,000 homes by 2028, with Whitchurch-Stouffville committing to build 225 homes over three years. In the UK, Persimmon Homes has submitted plans for 208 homes on a historically significant site in Dudley, while a 200-home development in Buntingford has received approval after initial rejection due to concerns about land use and sustainability. Additionally, South Gloucestershire has unveiled a Local Plan to construct 22,500 new homes over 15 years, which includes significant greenbelt land development. These measures reflect a growing recognition of the need for increased housing supply to meet demands in both countries.
