In a separate incident, a Salmonella outbreak tied to salad from Italy has sickened about 200 people across nine European countries, resulting in one death. The Salmonella Umbilo cases peaked in Germany, where health agencies collaborated to track the outbreak. Additionally, Grimmway Farms has recalled organic carrots potentially contaminated with E. coli O121:H9, associated with 39 illnesses. These incidents reflect ongoing concerns about foodborne illnesses and the importance of food safety protocols.
