Maple Leafs Sign Pacioretty and Lorentz

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed veteran forward Max Pacioretty to a one-year contract with a base salary of $873,770 and potential bonuses of $626,230, contingent on games played. This signing follows Pacioretty's comeback after multiple Achilles tendon surgeries, having scored four goals and 23 points in 47 games with the Washington Capitals last season. Pacioretty, a former first-round pick by the Montreal Canadiens, has recorded 330 goals and 668 points over his 902-game NHL career. Joining him is Steven Lorentz, who signed a one-year deal worth $775,000 after winning the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers last season. The Leafs also extended defenseman Cade Webber's contract for two years starting in the 2025-26 season. Both Pacioretty and Lorentz had attended the team's training camp on professional tryout agreements before securing their contracts.
