LEGO, Nintendo Reveal Game Boy Replica Set
LEGO and Nintendo have announced a near 1:1 scale replica of the original 1989 Game Boy, composed of 421 pieces and retailing for $59.99, with a release date set for October 1. The set features authentic details, including a pressable D-pad, A and B buttons, volume dial, Game Pak slot, and two brick-built cartridges for Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Lenticular inserts allow users to swap screens for different classic scenes, capturing the nostalgia and tactile experience of the handheld, though the model is not functional. Tetris is not included due to licensing restrictions. Preorders are available on LEGO’s and Amazon’s websites, and the set is aimed at adult collectors. This release continues LEGO's collaboration with Nintendo to celebrate iconic gaming hardware, following previous NES and Super Mario sets.
