The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Punjab Police has arrested a drug inspector in Mohali, who allegedly facilitated drug smuggling operations and maintained contacts with jailed smugglers. During the operation, police recovered Rs 1.49 crore in cash, 260 grams of gold, and foreign currency. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav reported that the ANTF identified and froze 24 bank accounts with a total of Rs 7.09 crore, along with seizing two bank lockers. The inspector's activities included laundering drug money tied to illegal pharmaceuticals and medical stores. Additionally, substantial assets, including real estate worth Rs 2.40 crore in Zirakpur and Dabwali, were linked to the proceeds of these illegal activities. This arrest is part of a broader initiative by the Punjab government to combat drug trafficking and promote a drug-free state.
