Jeffrey Wright Octavia Spencer Lead Death of a Salesman Adaptation

A new film adaptation of Arthur Miller's iconic 1949 play "Death of a Salesman" is in production, starring Jeffrey Wright as Willy Loman and Octavia Spencer as Linda Loman. The movie is directed by Chinonye Chukwu, who co-adapted the screenplay with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tony Kushner. The production is a collaboration between Focus Features and Amblin Entertainment, with Cindy Tolan, Kristie Macosko Krieger, Spencer, and Kushner serving as producers. Wright, an Academy Award nominee and seven-time Emmy nominee, and Spencer, an Academy Award winner, bring significant experience to their roles. This adaptation continues the legacy of the play, which has won numerous awards including the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play, and has previously been adapted into film and television. The film is set to release on November 27.
