Diddy Seeks $50 Million Bond Ahead October Sentencing

Sean "Diddy" Combs is requesting release on a $50 million bond ahead of his October 3 sentencing after being convicted on two lesser federal charges related to transportation for prostitution, while acquitted of the more serious sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges. His legal team argues that conditions at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, where he has been held since September 2024, are dangerous and that others convicted of similar offenses are typically released before sentencing. The defense also claims Combs may be the only person currently jailed for such conduct, which involved consensual arrangements with adult male escorts as part of a so-called 'swingers' lifestyle, an unusual application of the Mann Act. Prosecutors, however, maintain that Combs remains a flight risk, and the judge previously denied bail citing evidence of violent acts during the trial.
