2 Randolph Officers Injured in Police Cruiser Collision During Armed Robbery Search
On Tuesday afternoon in Randolph, Massachusetts, an armed robbery occurred at Prestige Gas on North Main Street involving a suspect described as a 6-foot-tall Black man wearing a white short-sleeve shirt, blue or olive shorts, black and white sneakers, black gloves, a blue Red Sox baseball hat over a ski mask, and carrying a black semiautomatic handgun and a light gray plastic bag. After the robbery, the suspect fled on foot, prompting a search by Randolph police. During the search, two police cruisers collided at the intersection of Mitchell and Royal streets, resulting in the officers being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash caused visible damage to the cruisers and a nearby fence. Both the armed robbery and the police cruiser collision are under active investigation, and police have requested that anyone with information contact the Randolph Police Department. Surveillance footage captured the robbery, showing the suspect pointing a gun at the cashier who then handed over cash that the suspect placed into the plastic bag.
