IKEA to Open London and Seoul Stores in May
IKEA has announced the opening of its highly anticipated Oxford Street store in London, set for May 1, 2025, in the iconic former Topshop location. The store, occupying three floors of the Grade-II listed building, will feature 6,000 products, including 3,500 available for immediate purchase, and a Swedish deli. This opening, delayed from earlier dates, marks a significant step in revitalizing Oxford Street post-Covid, alongside other new retail developments. Simultaneously, IKEA is expanding in Asia with a new store in Seoul's Gangdong IPARK THE RIVER, opening April 17, which represents its first outlet in Seoul city proper. This expansion is part of IKEA's strategy to enhance its omnichannel presence across major urban centers. The company has also seen a financial turnaround in Korea, achieving a net profit thanks to strategic price reductions and a boost in e-commerce sales.
