Volaris Expands with 16 New Routes, Boosts Connections to Mexico

Volaris, the low-cost Mexican airline, has announced a significant expansion of its U.S. network, adding 16 new routes, including 9 that are currently unserved by any other airline. This expansion follows the FAA's restoration of Mexico's aviation safety record to Category 1 in September 2023, prompting Mexican airlines to rapidly increase their routes. Two new nonstop destinations will be launched from San Antonio International Airport to Morelia and San Luis Potosi starting July 5, 2025. Additionally, Ontario International Airport will see 14 new weekly flights to Los Cabos, León, and Morelia, marking its largest single-day international expansion ever. These new routes aim to enhance affordable travel options between the U.S. and Mexico, catering to travelers looking for cost-effective connections.
