Sanders and Al-Rajhi Triumph in 2025 Dakar Rally

Daniel Sanders has made history by becoming the second Australian to win the Dakar Rally, and the first motorcyclist in 16 years to lead from start to finish in this challenging two-week race. Riding his Red Bull KTM, Sanders managed a dominant performance throughout, winning five stages and maintaining a lead over his closest rival, Tosha Schareina, to secure victory by nearly nine minutes. Known as 'Chucky', Sanders hailed from Yarra Valley and achieved this milestone after years of dedication to motorsport. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian racer Yazeed Al-Rajhi also marked a historic win by becoming the first Saudi to claim victory in the car category of the Dakar Rally, on home soil. Al-Rajhi finished the race with a lead of 3 minutes and 57 seconds, overcoming the challenges of the world's toughest rally raid.
