Oakland County Sheriff's Office Collects Donations for Abandoned Children in Pontiac

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office has initiated a donation drive for three children, aged 15, 13, and 12, who were found abandoned in a Pontiac home in deplorable conditions. Authorities discovered the children living in a house filled with garbage and human waste, having been left alone for years by their mother, who has since been arrested. The children survived on food that was occasionally dropped off by either their mother or strangers and had not attended school since at least 2020. Donations of clothing, educational supplies, and gift cards are being accepted at the sheriff's office to support the children's needs as they recover from the traumatic experience. Sheriff Michael Bouchard described the situation as one of the most severe cases of neglect he has encountered in his career. The children are now in the custody of a relative, receiving care and support from Child Protective Services.
