Modi to Visit Brunei, Singapore in September

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visits to Brunei and Singapore underscore India's commitment to strengthening ties in Southeast Asia. In Brunei, Modi's visit marks the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations, with discussions focused on enhancing trade, cultural links, and defense cooperation, including the exploration of new areas such as space technology and health. Modi was warmly received by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and inaugurated the new Indian High Commission Chancery. In Singapore, Modi will meet key leaders, including President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, and engage with the business community to bolster economic ties. This visit coincides with the 60th anniversary of India-Singapore diplomatic relations and aims to consolidate recent ministerial discussions on advanced manufacturing, digitalization, and green economy.
