Uzbekistan Deepens Multisector Cooperation with SCO, Hungary, Japan, Turkey

Uzbekistan is actively expanding international cooperation across multiple sectors, emphasizing science, technology, agriculture, economic infrastructure, and energy. Within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization framework, Uzbekistan proposed joint science and technology projects and signed an agreement with Xi’an Petroleum University to train Uzbek engineers in China. Agricultural collaboration with China is also progressing, as Chinese technology aids Uzbek farmers in improving crop yields. Bilateral talks with Hungary focused on enhancing public-private partnerships (PPP), banking, privatization, and investment in infrastructure, while discussions with Japan’s JBIC highlighted accelerating PPP initiatives in healthcare infrastructure, green economy, IT, and small business development. Additionally, Uzbekistan and Turkey’s Kazancı Holding explored modernizing the Uzbek energy sector and attracting investment through PPPs, reflecting a broad strategy to leverage international expertise and finance for sustainable development.
