Cadeler Secures 495MW Formosa 4 Offshore Wind Installation Contract Taiwan

Cadeler has secured a firm contract with Synera Renewable Energy to transport and install 35 Siemens Gamesa 14-MW turbines for the Formosa 4 offshore wind farm off the coast of Miaoli County, Taiwan. The project, to be executed using one of Cadeler's new M-class installation vessels, is slated to begin in March 2028 and will last approximately 150 days, with revenues expected between EUR 70 million and 80 million. Formosa 4 will cover a 58-square-kilometer area with turbines installed in water depths ranging from 57 to 64 meters, delivering a total capacity of 495 MW to Taiwan's clean energy supply. This contract is part of a previously announced reservation agreement for two offshore wind projects in the region, with negotiations ongoing for the second project. Cadeler's CEO emphasized that this milestone strengthens the company's strategic presence in the Asia-Pacific market, supported by its local Taipei office and existing fleet operations. Nearby, Taiwan continues to advance its offshore wind sector, with the 640-MW Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm having recently commenced full commercial operations.
