Israeli Strikes Kill 17 Palestinians Across Gaza, Displace Thousands

Israeli attacks across Gaza on July 20-21, 2025, have resulted in the deaths of at least 17 Palestinians, including multiple members of the displaced Abu Taima family in the Al-Mawasi area near Khan Younis. The strikes involved air raids, drone attacks, and shelling targeting various locations such as Deir el-Balah, Jabalia, and Gaza City. Humanitarian concerns have been raised as critical infrastructure including health clinics and water facilities are within the newly designated evacuation zones, with UN agencies warning of potentially life-threatening consequences. The World Food Programme reported that an Israeli attack on a humanitarian convoy at the Zikim crossing caused numerous casualties. Since the conflict escalated in October 2023, over 58,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed and nearly 141,000 injured, with many victims still trapped under rubble or in inaccessible areas. Israeli authorities have not issued comments regarding the recent strikes, while Gaza's Hamas-run civil defense agency continues to report casualties without distinguishing between civilians and combatants.
