A tragic plane crash in Campbell County, Wyoming, on Friday claimed the lives of seven individuals, including prominent Southern Gospel musicians Kelly Nelon Clark, her husband Jason, and their daughter Amber Nelon Kistler, all members of The Nelons. The group was en route to the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska when their aircraft, identified as a Pilatus PC-12/47E, reportedly experienced autopilot issues before the crash, which occurred around 1 p.m. local time. Other victims included Nathan Kistler, family friend Melodi Hodges, and pilot Larry Haynie along with his wife Melissa. The Nelons, a Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame quartet, have won numerous awards and were known for their significant contributions to the genre. Autumn Nelon Streetman, another daughter not on the flight, expressed gratitude for the support and prayers received during this difficult time. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident, with preliminary findings expected within 30 days and a final report possibly taking up to two years.
