Bhanzu, a mathematics-focused edtech platform founded by Neelakantha Bhanu, known as the world's fastest human calculator, has successfully raised $16.5 million in a Series B funding round led by Epiq Capital with participation from Z3Partners and existing investors like Lightspeed Ventures and Eight Roads. The company has reported an impressive 8x growth since its last funding round in September 2022, achieving positive cash flow and a strong product-market fit across multiple regions, including India, the US, the UK, and the Middle East. With over 30,000 students trained, Bhanzu aims to revolutionize math education in the US market, capitalizing on the lack of innovation among established competitors. The funds will primarily support expansion into the US, where Bhanu sees significant potential for growth. The latest round of funding marks a renewed interest in India's edtech sector, which had faced challenges following the pandemic and the decline of major players like Byju's.
