The incident occurred as both players chased the puck, with Luostarinen pushing Blake head-first into the boards, resulting in a bloody nose for Blake, who remained down for a minute but returned to play in the second period. The penalty was upheld after video review, as required by NHL rules for a major boarding infraction. Luostarinen, a key contributor for the Panthers with 13 playoff points, will be missed as Florida leads the series 2-0.
