Long Beach Man Charged With Violent Hate Crime Spree

Alvin Marbra, 29, has been charged with the rape and kidnapping of a 61-year-old woman in Long Beach, the attempted rape of a 52-year-old woman in Santa Monica, and a hate-motivated assault on a 26-year-old man in Long Beach, all occurring between April and July 2025. Prosecutors allege Marbra inflicted great bodily injury on both female victims and that the attack on the male victim was classified as a hate crime, though the nature of the bias has not been detailed. Marbra, who has a 2021 conviction for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Florida, was arrested after police tracked him using security footage and is being held on $1.275 million bail. If convicted on all counts, he faces up to 80 years to life in state prison, mandatory lifetime sex offender registration, and a permanent firearm ban. Authorities are encouraging additional victims to come forward as investigations continue. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J.
